Panaeolus Cyanescens “Naolinco, Mexico” Spore Print

0

Naolinco was collected by some.guysfungi in the volcanic belt of Naolinco, Veracruz, Mexico. Like other volcanic varieties, its characterized by aggressive genetics, tall fruit and thick, rapid-growing mycelium.

The morphology is dominated by exceptionally tall stipes that can reach up to 7“ in height. While the stems are slender, they remain sturdy through most of the life cycle. The defining trait of Naolinco is its disproportionately large cap size. As the caps near maturity, the weight often exceeds the stipe’s center of gravity, causing the fruit to tip over as they finish expanding.

Product Description

Genus: Panaeolus

Species: P. cyanescens (aka Pan cyan, Copelandia, Blue Meanie)

Strain Origin: Naolinco, Veracruz, Mexico (in the volcanic belt)

Climate: Tropical and subtropical

Habitat: Thrives in nutrient-rich soil, commonly found in pastures, grasslands, and areas fertilized by livestock manure.

Temp: 77°–83°F (25–28°C)

Relative Humidity: 86%–94%

Cap: Medium to large (3–6 cm diameter). Pins emerge with rounded, godlen brown caps that expand into a broad bell shape. As they mature, the color transitions to a smokey grey. The most notable trait is the sheer weight of the cap, which often becomes too heavy for the stipe to support as it opens.

Stem: Tall and slender, typically ranging from 8–18 cm in height. Will display deep indigo-blue bruising when handled.

Gills: Adnate to adnexed and very crowded. They transition from a mottled charcoal grey to a deep, jet black as the spores mature. The density of the gill structure contributes to the overall top-heavy nature of the fruit.

Spores: Jet black, smooth, and elliptical. Naolinco is a prolific sporulator and will leave a heavy dusting of black spores on the neighboring fruit at maturity.

Growth Characteristics: Mycelium is aggressive and thick on both agar and grain. This variety is hardier than most and shows a higher than average tolerance for environmental shifts.

Notes: Thrives in environments with stable temperatures, balanced humidity, and consistent  airflow.

Potency: Psilocybin content typically ranges between 2%–4%.
