What’s interesting about this variety is that the original print came from a normal sized Rainbow Eucalyptus fruit. In the first grow, two normal pins appeared (neither of which made it to maturity), while the rest were dwarfs. Since then, multiple cultures have been grown out from a different print, all of which produced the same dwarf morphology.
Most traits like this require at least a couple generations to stabilize, but this one hasn’t wavered at all. While everything outside of the morphology behaves like a Panaeolus cyanescens, it’s being sent in for sequencing to confirm.
As for growth characteristics, they tolerate less than ideal conditions quite well, making them easier to work with than most Panaeolus varieties. The mycelium is thin, semi-translucent, and fast growing. When young, the caps start out flat and ruffle around the edges as they mature. If left long enough, they start to fold in on themselves like a taco.
A couple interesting features worth noting: instead of the typical dark gray or black gills, the gills on this variety shift from light gray to deep blue as spores develop, similar to what’s seen in albino phenotypes. This variety also produces the largest caps I’ve ever seen on a Panaeolus cyanescens, reaching up to 2.5–3 inches in diameter. Stems are either nonexistent or look like short, thick, tree stumps.
I know a lot of people prefer spores from larger fruits, so I wanted to mention that swabs were taken from the larger caps, and prints are from the medium to smaller caps. Due to the cap’s shape, the prints are exactly pretty either, and many of them came out on the lighter side so print orders may include two instead of one.
Note: Most fruits grew directly on top of the substrate which made collecting spores a bit difficult. I did my best to keep them clean, but please be prepared to do a little cleanup on your end.
What’s included: Each order includes 1-3 prints, carefully wrapped in sterilized foil. Prints can last several years if stored in a dark, dry, and cool location such as your fridge.

Genus: Panaeolus
Species: P. cyanescens (aka Pan cyan, Copelandia, Blue Meanie)
Strain Origin: Found near a Rainbow Eucalyptus tree in Hawaii
Climate: Tropical and subtropical
Habitat: Thrives in nutrient-rich soil, commonly found in pastures, grasslands, and areas fertilized by livestock manure.
Temp: 77°–83°F (25–28°C)
Relative Humidity: 86%–92%
Cap: Small to large (1.5–7.5 cm diameter), flat when young with edges that begin to curl inward as they mature. Caps are hygrophanous, starting out deep brown and fading to a pale cream or silvery gray.
Stem: Extremely short (0–2 cm), thick, and stumpy. Pale off-white and bruises blue when handled.
Gills: Thick, tightly spaced, and often irregular. Begin light gray and turn deep blue as spores mature.
Spores: typically jet black, smooth, and elliptical in shape.
Growth Characteristics: Fast growing with delicate, tomentose mycelium that is typically soft white and semi-translucent on grains. Colonizes quickly and usually begins pinning within 7–8 days.
Notes: Tolerates less than ideal conditions quite well, making them easier to work with than most Panaeolus varieties.
Potency: Psilocybin content typically ranges between 2%–4%.
Amazingly clean germination and fast too! Pans never fail to amaze me by how fast they germinate from a fresh print. Many thanks 🙏🏼
