Panaeolus Cyanescens “Burringbar, Australia” Spore Print

0

Burringbar, also known as B-Bar, is one of the most unique Panaeolus cyanescens I’ve worked with. While the full origin story is a bit unclear, the original wild find came from Burringbar, New South Wales, Australia, and was most likely introduced to the community by 3.A.M.

The print was described as small and light, a “one-shot” opportunity that required a lot of agar work to get going.  He noted his first grow only produced 2 clusters of the smallest pan cyans he’d ever seen, but after cloning those, he got a full flush. (Source: Shroomery Post #29369701)

I’m glad he stuck with it because this variety is a lot of fun to work with. The prints aren’t very pretty and the genetics are still a bit hit and miss but the fruit are amazing! They’re exceptionally tall and often end up flopping over to finish maturing on their sides. I’m not sure if that’s a unique growth expression or due to a higher than average oxygen demand, but either way, it’s interesting to watch.

When young, the caps are tall and narrow, with a distinct bullet or candle-flame shape. As they mature, they open into a soft bell, and the stems tend to twist and wrap around each other like vines.

What’s included: Each order includes 1-3 prints, carefully wrapped in sterilized foil. Prints can last several years if stored in a dark, dry, and cool location such as your fridge.
