The OG of Psilocybe cubensis. Golden Teacher was first discovered growing in the grasslands of Florida in the late ’80s and has been a foundational variety ever since. It’s best known for its warm golden caps, engaging visuals, and gentle, spiritually introspective effects. It’s a classic line of genetics every mycologist has in their library and often one of the first strains those just starting out are drawn to.

Climate: Tropical and subtropical
Habitat: Found in nutrient-rich pastures, grasslands, and manure-fertilized soils, often near livestock.
Temp: 74°–80°F (23–27°C)
Relative Humidity: 85%–95%
Cap: Caps are large and rounded, typically starting out golden to reddish caramel and fading to pale tan or cream as they mature (hygrophanous).
Stem: Thick, sturdy stems that are white to pale cream in color. Usually has a persistent, membranous veil (annulus) around the upper portion of the stem. Bruises deep blue when handled.

Notes: Grows best in environments with stable warmth, high humidity, and consistent fresh air exchange.
Potency: Psilocybin content typically ranges between 0.75%–1.75%.
An oldie but a goodie
Other vendors sell HUGE GT cultivars that look kinda bad (ie. Dino-Spores). This nice cultivar is the OG phenotype, ideal for sensible people that aren’t on a quest to grow the heaviest fruit
