Panaeolus Hybrid PHV (Purple Haustralia Venom) Spore Print

5.0

PHV (Purple Haustralia Venom), is a cross between Panaeolus cyanescens Huasteca x Panaeolus tropicalis RDU (Red Down Under), by Jake Oncid using snake venom. While the original cross had dark gills and purple spores, the tropicalis genes are strong so its not uncommon for fruit to have bright orange gills like you see in the pics. Spore prints can also have a deep reddish/brown hue when wet. Very pretty! PHV is one of my favs.

Product Description

Genus: Panaeolus

Species: hybrid of P. cyanescens x P. tropicalis

Strain Origin: cross between Panaeolus cyanescens Huasteca x Panaeolus tropicalis RDU (Red Down Under), by Jake Oncid using snake venom.

Climate: Tropical and subtropical.

Habitat: Thrives in nutrient-rich soil, commonly found in pastures, grasslands, and areas fertilized by livestock manure.

Temp: 77°-83°F (25-28°C)

Relative Humidity: 86%-92%

Cap: Caps are typically rounded to broadly convex, reflecting their tropicalis lineage. Usually thicker and sturdier than pure cyanescens, starting out a dark chestnut brown and fading into pale cream or gray as they mature (hygrophanous).

Stem: Stems are firm, thicker, and sturdier than typical cyanescens and usually pale cream to off-white, easily bruising blue when handled.

Gills: Originally dark charcoal gray to black, but due to the dominant red spored genetics from its RDU parent, bright orange gills are not uncommon. Gills are closely spaced, sturdy, and directly attached to the stem.

Spores: Originally purple, but due to RDU’s dominant genetics, it’s not uncommon for spores to be dark reddish brown instead. Spores are smooth and elliptical in shape. Basidia typically produce four spores each (tetrasporic).

Growth Characteristics: Fast growing with delicate, tomentose mycelium that is typically soft white in color and semi-translucent on grains. Colonizes quickly. Fruits tend to be slightly thicker than cyanescens.

Notes: Thrives in environments with stable temperatures, balanced humidity, and consistent airflow.

Potency: Psilocybin is typically between 2%-4%

I knew I came to the right place. Super happy for the woman behind the company. The prints I got (BSF, PHV, WEZA) were exceptionally clean. This strain grew at a fairly good rate. It’s a bit more wispy than other strains… Thank you Whitney. So much love for you.
